SATENA 🛫
SATENA (Servicio Aéreo a Territorios Nacionales) is the state-owned airline of Colombia, founded in 1962 by presidential decree under the leadership of then-President Alberto Lleras Camargo. Its primary mission has always been to provide air connectivity to Colombia’s most remote and underserved regions, promoting economic development, social integration, and access to essential services.
Headquartered in Bogotá, SATENA operates primarily from El Dorado International Airport and secondary hubs in Medellín and Cali. The airline's fleet includes a variety of aircraft such as the ATR 42-500, ATR 72-600, Embraer ERJ-145, and DHC-6 Twin Otter, ideal for navigating Colombia’s diverse terrains, from the Amazon rainforest to the Pacific coastline.
SATENA plays a vital role in Colombia’s transport infrastructure by ensuring mobility across regions that are otherwise isolated, offering passengers reliable, safe, and efficient service. With a focus on social responsibility over commercial profitability, SATENA continues to be a symbol of national pride and connectivity for Colombians.
Whether you’re exploring Colombia’s natural wonders, conducting business, or visiting loved ones, SATENA remains committed to making travel accessible and bridging communities across the country.
